Project Overview
Two Concepts, One Digital Roof

Luis, the owner of Haydee’s in Gainesville, managed two beloved but distinct concepts under one banner: a cozy breakfast-and-lunch café and a vibrant dinner-and-bar cantina. The existing website was outdated and failed to distinguish between the two experiences, leaving guests confused about where to go for coffee versus where to go for cocktails. The digital presence lacked the warmth and hospitality that defined the physical locations.

The mission was to unify these concepts without blending them. We needed to architect a cohesive online home that clearly differentiated the "Day" vs. "Night" experiences, guiding customers effortlessly to the correct menu, location, and ordering channel while celebrating the brand's authentic roots.

Brand Confusion: The previous site treated the two locations identically, failing to distinguish the distinct "Café" vs. "Cantina" atmospheres to potential guests.

Conversion Friction: Essential revenue drivers like Toast Online Ordering and OpenTable reservations were disjointed, causing drop-offs in the user journey.

Mobile Usability: The legacy site performed poorly on mobile devices, a critical issue for a local business reliant on on-the-go search traffic.

The Goals

Clear Segmentation: Map distinct user journeys for breakfast/lunch guests and dinner/bar patrons to ensure they land on the relevant content immediately.

Visual Vibrancy: Develop a palette drawn from the logo (Teal, Coral, Gold) to convey the festive, community-driven spirit of the brand.

Seamless Integration: Fully integrate third-party tools (Toast, OpenTable, Sysco) to create a frictionless operational hub for the staff.

Strategy & Approach
Phase 1: Discovery & Architecture

We began with a deep brand audit and stakeholder interviews to understand the specific needs of the loyal guest base. We mapped out a dual-path Information Architecture that prioritized "Locations" and "Menus," allowing users to self-select their experience immediately upon landing.

Phase 2: Visual Energy

To match the warmth of the hospitality, we developed a high-energy palette using Teal (#0BA999), Coral (#F34F44), and Gold (#F7A870). We paired Poppins body text with Bree Serif headings to create a typographic voice that felt friendly and approachable, supported by high-impact photography of the food and community.

Phase 3: Technical Ecosystem

We leveraged Popmenu’s flexible CMS to build a responsive framework. We integrated Toast for seamless online ordering and OpenTable for real-time reservations. Additionally, we implemented a Sysco-sponsored banner system to help the client actively promote supply-chain partner specials.
