Sewa
Project Overview
Elevating the Flavor of San Francisco
When Kamal approached us to launch Sewa, the stakes were high. Fresh off a rapid "one-call close," he needed a digital presence that would not only match but outshine his sister concept, Nepa Indian Cuisine. The new venue, situated in a competitive San Francisco district, required a sophisticated online identity that balanced the warmth of Nepalese hospitality with the rich aesthetics of Indian fine dining—all without existing photography assets.
The mission was to engineer a high-performance website in record time. We needed to deliver an elegant, photo-forward platform that drove immediate revenue through seamless takeout orders and dining reservations, while simultaneously laying a heavy-hitting SEO foundation to compete from Day One.
Challenges & Goals
The Challenges
Zero Domain Authority: As a brand-new 2024 concept, the site had no search history, making immediate visibility difficult in the crowded SF market.
Asset Constraints: We had to launch without original food photography, requiring a strategy to make stock imagery feel authentic to the specific cuisine.
Integration Friction: The default online ordering flow needed to be customized to integrate seamlessly with Clover payments to maximize conversion.
The Goals
Rapid Deployment: Deliver a polished, agency-grade proof of concept in days to meet the client's aggressive opening timeline.
Conversion Optimization: Engineer a friction-free Online Ordering (OLO) experience to drive heavy takeout volume.
SEO Dominance: Implement robust on-page and technical SEO immediately to capture keywords like "best Nepalese curry San Francisco."
Strategy & Approach
Phase 1: Lean & Elegant UX
We mapped a streamlined hierarchy focused on user intent. Using Sewa’s rich brand palette—Gold (#c68920), Deep Green (#0c390f), and Black—we created a premium visual experience. We curated high-resolution stock imagery that perfectly matched this palette, providing a placeholder solution that felt bespoke until professional photography could be arranged.
Phase 2: OLO & Clover Integration
To ensure high conversion, we customized the Popmenu OLO environment. We enhanced the visual prominence of "Add to Cart" buttons and embedded the Clover payment widget directly into the sidebar. This reduced checkout friction, creating a one-click feel that encourages larger basket sizes.
Phase 3: Day-One SEO
We didn't wait for traffic; we built for it. We conducted deep keyword mapping for high-intent phrases and implemented granular JSON-LD Schema (Restaurant, Menu, LocalBusiness). We also optimized site performance by lazy-loading the image gallery, ensuring fast load times on mobile networks.
