Project Overview
Rolling Out a New Digital Standard
Tastee Rolls, famous for their signature Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls and savory Rice Bowls, is a dual-location powerhouse run by two dedicated sisters in Bellwood and Southside Chicago. Despite their culinary success and "Restaurant Guru 2024" recognition, their digital operations were stalled by skepticism. Past negative experiences with third-party delivery platforms—plagued by food theft and lack of control—had made the owners hesitant to embrace online ordering again.
The mission was to rebuild trust through technology. We needed to design a vibrant, high-energy website that reflected the quality of their food while simultaneously providing the technical consulting required to launch a secure, owner-controlled online ordering system.

The Challenges
Operational Trauma: The owners had suffered from food theft and poor service via apps like DoorDash, creating significant resistance to re-implementing online ordering.
Technical Knowledge Gap: There was confusion regarding the necessary hardware ecosystem, specifically how to integrate receipt printers with digital tickets.
Multi-Location SEO: Managing a cohesive brand identity while ensuring distinct local search visibility for two separate markets (Bellwood and Chicago).
The Goals
Restore Confidence: Successfully pitch and implement a direct Online Ordering (OLO) system that gives the sisters full control over the process.
Hardware Empowerment: Provide hands-on guidance for OrderNerd and printer setups to ensure a glitch-free kitchen workflow.
Visual Storytelling: Highlight the "Hard Work" behind the brand with rich visuals of their signature dishes to drive appetite appeal.
Strategy & Approach
Phase 1: Technical Consulting & Education
Before design could begin, we had to solve the operational hesitation. I provided extensive consulting on the Popmenu OLO ecosystem, explaining how it eliminates third-party interference. I also guided the owners through hardware procurement, specifically recommending compatible Star Micronics printers to ensure seamless integration with OrderNerd.
Phase 2: Dual-Location SEO
To capture traffic for both locations, we engineered the site structure to treat Bellwood and Southside Chicago as distinct entities within a unified brand. This involved location-specific keyword injection and separate Schema markup to ensure customers found the Tastee Rolls nearest to them.
Phase 3: Visuals & Credibility
We leveraged the brand's recent accolades, placing the "Recommended by Restaurant Guru 2024" badge prominently on the custom homepage. The layout was designed to be approachable and vibrant, using dynamic content sections to showcase their "Catering Made Easy" services and high-margin items like the Signature Rice Bowls.
